A deck layout may seem evident if easy access to and from the side yard is paramount to the usefulness of a yard and deck. Easy access from a front or side yard can make the difference from looking forward or dreading long walks from the past.
This deck plan incorporates a midway staircase landing dividing what would otherwise be a single lengthy staircase. The two corners of the main deck are at 45-degree angles, softening the hardness normally associated with 90-degree corners. Standard laid decking increases the contrast of the angles, providing additional visual interest to an already interesting design.
Nothing can ring truer for this design than a casual stroll up to a nice size elevated deck.
